In 1990, the number of credits earned by high school students in career and technical education (CTE) fields exceeded that of social studies, science and math. By 2009, however, the number of credits earned in CTE courses had substantially dropped. To really prepare students for today’s workforce and economy, it's essential to reverse this trend.
